How to use the map

  • Find a place: type a station, stop or line in the search box, then pick a station or stop to zoom to it (a line opens its own page).
  • Next departures: select a station or stop to see its next trains or buses, then follow the link to its page for elevators, alerts and the full schedule.
  • Layers: use the buttons above the map to show or hide Metrorail, MARC and VRE, Metrobus stops and Capital Bikeshare. Bus stops appear once you zoom to street level and Capital Bikeshare stations at neighborhood level, so the map stays readable.
  • Scheduled times: departure times come from published timetables and are labeled “Scheduled”. Live arrivals are shown on station pages when WMATA publishes real-time data.
