Since November 15, 2022, the Metrorail Silver Line serves Washington Dulles International Airport. The airport station is about 600 feet from the main terminal through an indoor tunnel with moving walkways.

Taking the Silver Line

  • Station: Washington Dulles International Airport — next trains, elevator status and entrances.
  • Time: about 50 to 55 minutes to Rosslyn, according to the airport; trains continue through downtown Washington (Foggy Bottom, Metro Center, Smithsonian) toward Largo.
  • Fare to Metro Center: $6.75 on weekdays before 9:30 pm; $2.25 to $2.50 after 9:30 pm and on weekends. Tap a contactless card or phone, or use SmarTrip. See fares.
  • Plan your exact trip with the trip planner.

Tips

  • Allow time for the walk: the airport says about 5 minutes, WMATA 7 to 8 minutes.
  • Check service status: track work on the Silver Line can affect weekend trips.
  • Other airports: Reagan National (DCA), closer to downtown, and BWI by MARC train.
