Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport has its own Metrorail station on the Blue and Yellow lines, connected by walkways to Terminals 1 and 2. It is the easiest airport to reach by public transit from downtown Washington.

Taking Metro

  • Station: Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport — next trains, elevator status and entrances on the station page.
  • Yellow Line to L'Enfant Plaza, Gallery Place and Mount Vernon Square; Blue Line to Rosslyn, Foggy Bottom, Metro Center and Smithsonian area stations. Use the trip planner for your exact trip time.
  • Fare: a normal Metrorail fare, between $2.25 and $6.75 on weekdays before 9:30 pm and $2.25 to $2.50 at night and on weekends, depending on distance. Tap a contactless card or phone, or use SmarTrip. See fares.

Tips

  • Check service status before you leave: weekend track work can replace trains with shuttle buses.
  • Traveling with luggage or a stroller? Check the station's elevator status and your destination's.
  • Other airports: Dulles (IAD) on the Silver Line, BWI by MARC train.
